Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Estimate of Cost?
An Estimate of Cost begins with the type of move you are performing: local or long distance.
If your move is local, the estimator performs a walkthrough of your home, business, etc. and determines the size of your move, the number of movers required for the move, and the number of hours to perform the service. The estimator then provides you with a price.
If your move is long distance, the estimator performs a walkthrough of your home, business, etc. and arrives at an estimated weight, determines the miles and service needs, and from that a price estimate is determined.
Other charges may be added in for packing, crating, cargo insurance or any other additional services you may require.
The GEIPE staff constantly undergoes regular training to continuously improve our services. We also work with customers closely to ensure satisfaction is met at every level of your move.

The contract that you sign with your mover provides three options for placing a value on your shipment. The value that you select sets the limit of your mover's maximum liability for loss or damage to your goods. These optional levels of liability are not insurance agreements that are governed by state insurance laws. You must make certain that your mover is aware of any high value items and you must declare a value on the Bill of Lading before your move begins.
For more information around Placing A Value On Your Shipment, we have provided a form which you can print. The form allows you to choose an option by signing and dating the option desired.
